Managing bounces with E-Nvía (Bounce)

Posted by Admin E-Nvía

The simplicity that surrounds the massively Email to administer large amounts of contact and not having a direct cost associated with each email sent, often leads to losing sight of the importance of having a base of contacts in good condition.

A central aspect of our email communication strategy is to be sure that all our contacts will receive our newsletter and that consequently the reading of it would cause a large portion of them.

Having loaded as contacts for people with outdated or misspelled emails results in certain drawbacks:

  • Incorrect statistical information, as our perception of the number of contacts with whom you communicate will be significantly larger than the actual.
  • Unnecessary use of technological resources, because the E-Nvía and mail servers try to deliver mail to a recipient lacking.
  • Lack of trust of the contacts that claim the failure to receive communications from us
  • But the biggest problem to consider is that more and more applications for mass use email as gmail.com, yahoo.com, Hotmail.com, begin to take into account and those Originating or negative rate of mail senders constantly send emails to nonexistent mailboxes, reaching the mark at this point in the category of "Spam", assuming that there is a careless use of your contact base.

Bouncing
One of the most useful tools to detect and correct problems related to our core e-mail addresses of contacts is the proper management of bounces.

A rebound is a return message that we receive from a server, where we clarify some problems in the process of getting our e-mail to the recipient.

There are two types of bounces, Temporal (Soft Bounce) or Permanent (Hard Bounce), a temporary rebound speaks of a problem that is not definitive and could be caused by a temporary malfunction of some of the services, applications, or servers the way of delivery. An example might be a temporary rebound when the contact has a mailbox exceeding the limit.

A Permanent bounce makes it impossible to present and future to get an email to the email address, this usually can be given that the address is non-existent, because they have been misspelled or discharged by the box.

Management of bounced emails
E-Nvía incorporates an automatic system to detect and easily manage your emails bounce and thus the proper maintenance and updating of your contact base.

The system of internal management of bounced e-Nvía receives and scans all emails returned by the recipient and taking the reason (error code to be server) on the impossibility of distributing mail to a particular direction, classifies each bounce between temporary and permanent, for each particular contact.

To access detailed and accurate information on bounces, see the section "Tracking / Statistics" sent messages.
Clicking "See Who" in temporary or permanent bounces, you get a complete list of bouncing contacts, from which you can create a mailing list containing all the email addresses with inconvenient or export all directions, including the description of specific problem for which the message undeliverable, a file type "CSV" that can be opened with a spreadsheet application or text file viewer.

Another way to look at the contacts with rebound is going to the Contacts section and filter contacts with rebound (by checking bounced only option in the filters)

Temporary Rebounds
For temporary bounces are detected, after making the sending of a message (bulletin), E-Nvía recommend creating a mailing list of these contacts and re-send the message after 72 hours (time that the most cases the technological drawbacks "temporary" are solved).

Remember that you can do this by programming the re-shipment on the last step of the process of creating messages for a specific date.

Permanent bounced
The bounced emails are identified with permanent problems similar to the storms, with the difference that a contact bounce problems standing in your email address is automatically "Off" for future shipments, thus E-Nvía protects your reputation by not insist allow shipments to non-existent email addresses.

We recommend, analyze and act on their permanent bounces, creating a CSV file extension, where you can see the reason for the rebound, which will help identify the kinds of problems that each has e-mail address.

Identification and classification of bounced Permanent
Each encoding has a bouncing single international standard, independent of technology and vendors involved. These codes can generally understand the type of problem that is present in each email address.

The usual codes that identify the type rebounds Standing are:
